Ewes/Hoggs & Lambs – A sharp trade again with a high premium found for the best, none better than the sale topper a stylish Texel shearling with a pair of lambs from Fletcher & Coates, Short Thorns Farm, Weardale which sold for £260 to Elliot Grieves of Whinney Hill. A marvellous run of 2 crop continental ewes from C & E Gaskin, Hillingdon Farm, Marwood joined the Short Thorns flock in the 200 plus club. Hoggs and lambs always looked unlikely to sustain the biblical levels they sold at last week and this was indeed the case, thus said they still averaged £80 per life with a top of £182 from Emma Carvey, East Field Farm, Entercommon for strong Mules with single Texel lambs by their side.
