Darlington Farmers Auction Mart held their Early Spring Collective Sale of Tractors, Implements and Machinery on Saturday 6th April 2019.
A fantastic day for all concerned with a mammoth crowd in attendance, possibly the most people ever seen at any of our ever increasing collective offerings; some 676 lots were placed up for grabs by our 88 vendors selling at a fantastic 92% clearance rate to no less than 136 active buyers. A plethora of small tools contained some unique and exciting lots to kick off the day with the section peaking when an immaculate Nilfisk Alto Steam Cleaner sold for £600, the usual story was apparent in the small tools as the bargain hunters showed great interest in anything useable or re-saleable whilst some poorer lots struggled to attract a bid. When the second auction began in the field a noticeable premium was achieved by the fencing materials, as spring is suddenly upon us plenty of livestock farmers took a break from the lambing shed and they all most certainly appear keen to keep their stock secure this season; top price in the field was an incredibly tidy twin axle Griffiths 10 Silage Trailer which sold for an impressive £3900. An increased entry of vehicles saw some very enthusiastic bidding, it was noticeable that those entered early and therefore well advertised undoubtedly enjoyed the fastest trade, top price was a lovely 30 year old 2wd Massey Ferguson 390 loader tractor with just 6400 hours to its name, a great example of its type it sold for £6000; also worthy of a mention were the Leyland 245 which sold way beyond expectation at £4450, a 56 plate Range Rover which reached £4400, an International 68 5XL then sold for £3450 and a wonderful little Massey Ferguson 35X sold very well for £3000.
The next sale is on Saturday 4th May with entries closing on Tuesday 23rd April 2019 at 12 noon.
Early entries are greatly appreciated and essential for advertising purposes.
